Mr.Obora started his consulting career in Tokyo at McKinsey & Company, a global
management consulting company, in 1982. He was made a Partner in 1989. He headed
the Asia Pacific Marketing and Consumer Goods practice until he left the Firm in 1997.
Mr. Obora is a recognized national expert in marketing, having completed projects for
many of the most recognizable names in Japanese industry.
From 1998 to 2002, Mr.Obora was Managing Director of Imagene Corporation,
Tokyo, Japan, a business incubation and investment firm. During this period, he worked on
various M&A activities in the food distribution in Japan, and venture business
development in the US, Japan and China.
Mr.Obora holds Bachelor’s Degree in business and commerce from Keio University,
Tokyo, Japan, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business
School. He is fluent in English.
Other positions, Mr.Obora currently holds, includes Director of Aten Corporation
(Tokyo, Japan), a consulting company for new ventures,
Senior Business Advisor of Will Capital Management (Tokyo, Japan), a business
incubation company, and Director of Social System Architects & Associates .
Mr. Obora is also a member of two governmental advisory committees working on
regional development issues in Iwate and Okinawa. He was appointed by Japan’s Cabinet
Office to the Okinawa group and by the Iwate Prefectural government to the Iwate group.

Arobo International maintains a US office in Portland, Oregon, managed by Mr. James
Ray. Mr. Ray has more than 30 years experience and has been a colleague of Mr. Obora
for more than 20 years. Mr. Ray began his professional career in Washington DC
working for the US House of Representatives’ House Budget Committee from 1976 to
1981. He worked the Boston Consulting Group starting in 1982 before moving to New
York City to work with Lehman Brothers in investment banking. He has completed
project in many parts of the world, including Poland, Greece, China and Japan. Mr. Ray
works with Arobo on business consulting and capital advisory projects for firms in the
US seeking advice on their Japanese projects and with Japanese firms requiring
assistance with their US efforts.
Mr. Ray earned a Bachelor’s Degree in economics and Asian Studies from Amherst
College, Amherst, Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration
from Harvard Business School.
